Create practical shelter or storage with a timber structure suited to your site. StarBuilders can discuss timber sheds, including pole and portal options, as well as carports.
Sheds and carports built on lifestyle blocks and suburban sections across Whangārei, Maungatapere, Hikurangi, Waipū and the Heads.
Built around the purpose
Tell Owen what you need the structure for, the approximate size and where it will go. Site access, layout, materials and any applicable approvals all need to be considered as the scope takes shape.
Plan before pricing
Bring any drawings or ideas you already have. Owen will discuss the proposed work and what information is needed to take it further.

Timber sheds and carports: common questions
Do I need consent for a timber shed or carport?
Since 2020 some single-storey detached buildings up to 30 square metres and some carports up to 40 square metres are exempt from consent under set conditions. Larger or more complex structures need consent. Owen will confirm which applies.
What is the difference between a pole shed and a portal shed?
A pole shed carries its roof on posts set into the ground. A portal shed uses rigid frames on a slab or footings. Both are built in timber by StarBuilders, and the better choice depends on the site and the use.
Can you build a carport attached to the house?
Often yes, subject to the house structure and consent rules. Include photos of the wall and the ground in your enquiry.
Do you build steel sheds?
StarBuilders builds in timber. For a steel kitset, Owen can advise on the site preparation and the timber elements.
