Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to the details you send to StarBuilders through this website.

What this site collects

The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, suburb or area, the type of project and a description of the work. Your phone number and preferred timing are optional. Beyond the form, the site collects usage information through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, and only after you accept cookies (see below).

Why it is collected

The details are used to respond to your enquiry and to discuss your project with you. They are not added to a mailing list and are not shared with anyone else for marketing.

Where it goes

Enquiries are delivered by email to Owen Broughton at StarBuilders. They are kept for as long as needed to respond to the enquiry and to carry out any work that follows, then deleted.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to measure how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel, a service of Meta Platforms, to measure the response to StarBuilders' advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Neither loads until you choose Accept on the cookie bar. Until then the site sets no cookies and sends nothing to Google or Meta.

If you accept, Google and Meta set cookies in your browser and receive information such as the pages you view, the approximate location of your connection, your device and browser type, and whether you reached the enquiry confirmation page. That information is processed on servers outside New Zealand under each company's own privacy policy: Google and Meta. StarBuilders sees it as aggregated reports, not as named individuals.

Your choice is kept as a single setting in your browser, not as a cookie, and you can change it at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Declining has no effect on the enquiry form or anything else on the site.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information StarBuilders holds about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. To make a request, use the enquiry form on the contact page and say what you are asking for.
