A deck should work with your home, your outdoor space and the way you want to use it. Owen can discuss the layout, materials and practical details with you before the work is scoped.
Timber decks built across Whangārei, from Kamo and Maunu to Onerahi, Whangārei Heads and the Tutukaka Coast.
Start with how you want to use the space
Tell Owen whether you're planning somewhere to entertain, a place to relax or better access between your home and garden. Include any plans, approximate dimensions and ideas you already have.
Work through the details
The right approach depends on the property and the proposed design. Access, levels, existing structures and any applicable approvals need to be considered before pricing and timing are confirmed.

Decks: common questions
Do I need building consent for a deck in Whangārei?
Decks up to 1.5 metres above the ground are generally exempt under Schedule 1 of the Building Act, subject to conditions. Higher decks, and some sites, need consent through Whangārei District Council. Owen will tell you which applies.
What timber do you use for decks near the coast?
Treated timber suited to salt air, with fixings chosen for the exposure. The right choice depends on the site, and it is part of the quote.
How long does a deck take to build?
It depends on size, height and site access. Owen gives a start window and a duration with the quote.
Can you build a deck around an existing house or pool?
Yes. Working with what is already there is a large part of Owen's experience. Include photos and rough dimensions in your enquiry.
Tell Owen about your deck
Include where the property is, roughly what you have in mind and when you would like to start.
